happy holidays

packing packing packing

christmas without christmas tree. First time we are aranging our christmas presents under a candleholder instead of a christmas tree. Normally we buy one on the 24th but this year we decided against it, because we are going on holidays tomorrow, so it would not really pay off. Anyways - merry christmas to all of you! Now I need to finish packing!

refrigerator lovestory

meltdown. It happened this year, around my birthday, when our refrigerator decided to give up the ghost. The mean thing about it was - not only that it was in the middle of summer and I was craving for cold drinks and ice cream - that it worked again from time to time. We thought that it was because of the heat and since it was only 3 years old, that it would only be temporarily. It didn't work for a few days and then worked again just normally. This happened several times. Every time I thought it recovered, I bought a huge Ben&Jerrys Ice Cream, but next time when I opened the freezer all I found, was a melted something. Three times we had somebody over to repair it, they even exchanged the entire electronic system, but nothing helped. To make a long story short, after nearly 6 months - the last 2 we used the balcony as a replacement, since it was cold outside - we finally got a new refrigerator. I can't tell you how happy I am! To be able to open its door and find a cold carton of milk makes my day! So next time when you look at yours, just think of how it would be without it and don't take it for granted :)

lieblingsSCHMUCKstück

Souvenir. Got this precious thing from my godmother for christmas - I was allowed to open it beforehand! It's a necklace by designer Nicole Billi. The chain holds different things she collected in different cities, so every jewel is unique. Nice gift, huh?

It's also an easy DIY, if you have an old watch that you like but doesn't work anymore, just put it on a chain. This one actually still works.

.*.*.*.*.

Since several days I go to bed hoping, that I will wake up in the morning and see the street in front of my window, covered with crispy fresh, white snow. I like how snow changes the character of the city and make me accept the cold wind.  In the meantime I just have to look at this photo I took last year. Sigh.

trying to remember the books' color

1000. Yesterday I got this huge book, for helping planning my parents' friends' apartment.
A few days ago I decided to organize my bookshelf by color - don't ask me why. I didn't relly have a system before so I guess this is an improvement. Good thing there is a spot left at the grey section!
